Open-source static site generator for documentation, written in React, with versioning, search plugins and Markdown or MDX pages.
Docusaurus is an open-source framework for building documentation websites. Pages are written in Markdown or MDX and kept in a Git repository, and the tool builds a static site with a sidebar, versioned docs, a blog and translations. You host the output wherever you like, such as a static hosting service or your own server.
Engineering teams and open-source projects use it for a docs-as-code setup: documentation changes go through the same pull requests and reviews as code, and the site rebuilds on every merge. Plugins add search, API reference pages from OpenAPI files and other features.
It needs someone comfortable with Node.js and front-end tooling to set up and maintain. It has no AI features of its own, so teams who want AI search usually add a separate service on top of the built site.
Not enough info yet on drafts text with AI, developer API. Check the tool's own site.
