About Glean

Workplace search and AI assistant that indexes company apps and answers questions with links to the source documents.

Glean connects to the apps a company already uses, such as document storage, wikis, ticketing, chat and code hosts, and builds one search index over them. Staff search in one place and get results that respect the permissions each person has in the original app, along with AI answers that cite the documents they came from.

For documentation teams, the value is that people find existing guides instead of asking the same questions in chat. It is mostly used by mid-size and large companies with knowledge spread across many tools.

Results depend on the quality of what is indexed: outdated or duplicate pages show up as confidently as good ones. Before rolling it out, check which of your apps it connects to, how permissions sync, where data is processed, and what reports it gives on searches that found nothing.
